We are incredibly excited to announce the launch of the Sarah & Stage Vocational Academy!
The academy has been created to provide a unique one-day-a-week vocational performing arts programme for students in Years 5–11 (ages 8–16) who are home educated, flexi-schooled, or attending through an agreed alternative education arrangement.
Our vision is to offer a high-quality learning environment inspired by vocational performing arts colleges, where students can develop not only their performance skills but also their confidence, creativity, resilience and professionalism.
What can students expect?
Students will receive specialist training in:
- Dance (including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Commercial, Street and Musical Theatre)
- Acting & Drama
- Screen Acting
- Singing & Vocal Technique
- Musical Theatre
- LAMDA preparation
- GCSE Drama, Dance & Music Support (where applicable)
- Industry Skills & Audition Preparation
- Alongside practical training, students will benefit from:
- Individual Student Portfolios
- Personal Development Plans (PDPs)
- End-of-term practical assessments
- Progress reports
- Tutor support
- Guest workshops with industry professionals
- Regular showcases and performance opportunities
Our aim is to provide a professional yet nurturing environment where every student feels challenged, supported and inspired to reach their full potential.
The GCSE Drama programme is designed to support students who wish to study towards their GCSE qualification. We will teach the relevant specification, prepare students for both the practical and written elements of the course, and provide ongoing guidance throughout their studies.
As with other GCSE subjects for home-educated students, parents will be responsible for registering their child with an approved examination centre to complete their GCSE assessments and examinations.
Academy Details
Location: Bollescroft, Cock Ln, Hoddesdon EN11 8BE
Age Range: Years 5–11 (Ages 8–16)
Academy Day: One full day each week - Wednesdays
Times: 8:45am – 3:30pm
Academic Year: 36 weeks
Launch Date: Subject to final confirmation.
We are aiming to launch this is September pending final arrangements and sufficient interest. We will be confirming the start date soon!
