Our Story

It all began when founder Sarah took her first steps on stage at just three years old. Performing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” alongside adults at the Millfield Theatre in Edmonton sparked a lifelong passion for the arts. From that moment, Sarah’s love for performing grew and never stopped.
After training at the Susi Earnshaw Theatre School and earning her BA Hons in Musical Theatre from the Margaret Howard Theatre College (now MPAA), Sarah embarked on a professional performance career. Yet, she couldn’t shake the dream of opening her own performing arts school—one inspired by her experiences but uniquely her own.
Sarah wanted to create more than just another youth theatre company. Drawing from her own time performing with adults as the youngest cast member, she envisioned a space where young performers could grow in confidence, gain top-notch training, and build life skills that extend far beyond the stage. She aimed to offer the same professional-level opportunities she’d enjoyed but designed specifically for younger generations.
Three years later, S&S Theatre Company has blossomed into a close-knit family. Every student who steps through our doors is welcomed with smiles, hugs, and the unwavering support of their peers. The passion and dedication our students bring to every rehearsal and performance are extraordinary. Each year, our classes and productions grow in scope, quality, and heart.
Sarah is deeply grateful to every student who has joined the S&S family and to everyone who has supported the journey. Your belief in our vision means the world to us. As S&S continues to grow, we’re excited to create even more unforgettable shows, lasting friendships, and meaningful opportunities for young performers to thrive—whether on stage or in life.
Thank you for being part of our story so far. The best is yet to come!
